Translation, Translation!

This week for us was very slow too. We found some new people to teach, but they quickly fell off of the face of the earth. Pretty interesting how people show a desire to learn and then just don't want anything to do with you the very next day. We did have a pretty cool Sunday though. It was ward conference and as you know we're the only Brasilian branch in the mission, so all of the leadership of the stake are English speakers. So what did I get to do this Sunday? 4 hours of translation because of multiple trainings we had. Wow was I tired yesterday. It was really cool and fun though. The members said they were impressed, so I think that means I've been accepted as one of there own haha So the missionary broadcast was crazy! They've changed a lot of things! How it's going to affect our mission? We'll find out tomorrow at a mission conference. But they've pretty much changed our whole schedule around for our day to day work. For example, P-day will now start at 8 am and end at 6 pm. We don't have nightly planning anymore. We'll do all of the planning in the morning and what not. It's interesting. The other big change is they took away most of the key indicators. They kept 4. Baptized and confirmed, investigators at sacrament meeting, investigators with a baptismal date, and new investigators. Very interesting indeed. The rest was a reminder from last year to teach repentance and baptize converts. So, some of the youth in the Brazilian branch know that I'm staying for a few days after I get released and wanted to hang out one of the nights that I'm here. Is there a night available I can go hang out with them for a couple of hours? Just hoping that'd work out cause the youth in this branch are pretty awesome. One of them just got his mission call to Orlando actually! Super cool. Anyways, love you tons! Thanks so much! I bought some new pants because my old ones were NASTY. But, that's about it for the week!

Doing Great!

My package arrived! Thank you! I think I had sent you the wrong address originally. Might have been an error in getting the address from other missionaries. It seems to be a common theme for me this time around in Boca that people are trying to marry me or set me up with their daughters. Cause it happened in front of our little supermarket. It's getting quite annoying receiving compliments and crap. I'm doing great though! We had a fun week with the members and trying to find people. We had a really nice lady come to English class and then church, but she's been sick lately so we haven't been able to teach her as much as we want. I'm doing great! Trying to work hard! Love you all!

A Baptism!

Santana is doing great! She actually got baptized this Sunday! So exciting! It was such a miracle we found her too. Super fun. The majority of the week was spent teaching her and helping her progress. Her roommate is cool and nice, but doesn't really want to come to church or progress towards baptism at the moment. All she really wants to do is get married.......to me...... Ummmmm hahah super funny when she asked me to marry her. But it was a great week! My recent convert Caliane moved back to Brasil today too :( so that was sad saying goodbye, but she gave a super strong testimony. Jamie Gange just got baptized this week! So exciting!

It's been super hard during some days! But I've always told myself I'm going to finish strong and not be that one missionary who everyone talks about who didn't finish. So I'm loving this life! I'm gonna miss it a ton! I've been super blessed! I was talking with Quinn today and she was asking about what blessings my family has seen from me being on a mission. And to be honest, I had no idea how to answer her! Haha So now I'm gonna ask you and dad and Britta and everyone. What blessings have you seen during these last two years? Thanks for everything! Love you all!

Last Little Bit!

Our week was great! Yet again more parties and food. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but i'm getting sick of eating food! Haha we eat so much! Even crazier, I don't know how I keep losing weight either. My pants and shirts don't fit me anymore. They're too big! hahah We had an awesome week of teaching though. Elder Huggins broke his toe last P-day so we've been having to do little splits all the time. But we've been teaching this lady named Santana! She's so great! She had a really rough past few months and from the moment we knocked on her door she's been pushing through quickly and doing great! Elder Culross' portuguese is improving too. He's able to help me teach now which makes the lessons flow much much better. It's been super hard finding new people to teach though. We saw a great miracle in Santana inviting her roomate and her roommate coming! Turns out the roommate has been to church before in Brazil and even has called and talked to missionaries in Salt Lake before. So that's cool. We're gonna do our best to teach her and help her out. I don't really have much else to say! I'm loving the time I have! It's fun to work even harder for this last little bit. Thanks for everything! Love you all!

Piano?? Who me?

As we talked on Sunday I don't have much to report. And as usual I'm terrible at taking pictures on a regular basis. I'll be sure to send home the piano piece we did though. The first part I'm the top hands and the second part I'm the bottom hands. Yesterday was pretty fun though. We spent a good 8 hours moving someone from house to house. It was Kevin's cousin actually. It was a ton of fun passing the day with Brazilians. Helps a ton to learn. Sorry I don't have much to say! Love you so much! Thanks for everything

Note from Mom: Sorry I don't know how to add an MP3 file to Blogger.

So excited!

I'm SO excited to be back in the branch! I love these people so much! Sadly Caliane is moving back to brazil in January :( but that's ok, cause we're gonna take a trip to Brasil in May for her sealing :) haha And then we'll go again for Andrew and Ingrid's sealing in September. My new companion is from Mesa, Arizona and he is of Mexican descent. So, right now it's a lot of spanish and portuguese being mixed. But he's trying super hard. And I'm praying for help cause I am STRESSED. My portuguese is coming back yeah. Conversation and joking around I'm pretty good at. Teaching though? Yikes, it's been a while. It'll take some time. Sounds like your week was as crazy as mine though. We were running around because of Christmas parties and sealings and trying to get to know some of the investigators and junk. So it's been nuts. AS of right now though we don't have any super solid investigators we are working, but we saw some prayers answered yesterday and we have a bunch of cool people to try this week. I'm pleading with the Lord to help us out. It's gonna be an interesting two transfers here. I'm excited to finish strong though. I love you tons! I'll send some great pictures from the temple!
